Daily Engagement
I’ve been working on a lifestyle app for a few months now, and while my download numbers are okay, the engagement is pretty depressing. Most people seem to open it once every couple of weeks, but I really want it to be something they check while they’re waiting for the bus or just killing a few minutes. I feel like I’m missing that "hook" that makes an app part of a daily routine. Does anyone have advice on how to transition from being a "monthly utility" to a daily habit?

It’s all about how the app feels during those tiny windows of free time we have throughout the day. I used to have the same problem with a fitness tracker I built, and I realized I was making it too much of a "chore" to open. People gravitate toward things that feel light and effortless when they're on the go. I actually found some great points about this at https://www.figbat.com/blog/why-mobile-entertainment-platforms-keep/ which explains how the most successful platforms win by being predictable and easy to scan. If you can make the experience feel "quiet" and not overwhelming, people are much more likely to open it out of habit when they have a spare moment.
